Richard Branson tastes Crusoe Treasure wines

The visionary leader and corporate legend Richard Branson, had the opportunity to taste one of the first Crusoe Treasure wines, currently sold out, the Crusoe Treasure Passion.

He first tasted it at an exclusive tasting and presentation on his private island of Necker in the British Virgin Islands. All of this was part of the MaiTai event, a meeting between entrepreneurs, sportspeople and, above all, lovers of the sea and innovation.

“The opportunity to be with entrepreneurs and people interested in innovation from the MaiTai group on the island of Necker was a dream come true – explains Borja Saracho, CEO of Crusoe Treasure – We worked very hard to create an excellent wine that is unique due to the sea. Our wines tell a story and carry a message of preservation of the seas. Studies on the treasure of wine under the sea open up an ocean of opportunities to make truly unique wines”.

Wines treasured at the bottom of the sea promote the preservation of the ocean and encourage marine research, and this was the main reason why the organizers of MaiTai and Richard Branson himself became interested in Crusoe Treasure.

In fact, Virgin’s founder is a member of Ocean Elders, an independent group of great influencers who have come together to preserve and protect the oceans and their habitat.

“Richard Branson couldn’t believe it,” says Borja. “A visionary like him was very surprised. I wondered: But has he really been underwater? He was very interested in the marine life around the bottles, and he told me he wanted to put one in his house for decoration. He loved the wine.

A success story that shows how far a project can go when it combines passion, innovation and a lot of work.

“This meeting proved that we are capable of reaching very important milestones – finishes Borja – This is a quite unexplored area and Bodega Crusoe Treasure continues to arouse a lot of interest. It means that we are doing it well and, above all, that we can achieve so much more”.
