Crusoe Treasure Winery, Bronze Medal in London https://uk.underwaterwine.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/13626604_1020552478051961_4227541203175208389_n-710x355.jpg 710 355 Crusoe Treasure https://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/a92b316a884d4396bd179329ef230451After winning a Silver Medal in Bordeaux in April 2016, Bodega Crusoe Treasure was awarded a Bronze Medal at the International Wine & Spirit Competition, for its two submitted wines, Crusoe Treasure Classic 2010 and Crusoe Treasure Passion 2011, the first two commercial references of the underwater wine elaborated by the winery and which are currently sold out.
This is the second International Competition we entered and the second International Prize we won. And that meant a lot to us. Because the innovation project in the marine environment that is Bodega Crusoe Treasure, the first underwater winery in the world, has always revolved around concepts such as vanguard, entrepreneurship, courage, personality or innovation, but the quality must be demonstrated.
Those of us in the Bodega Crusoe Treasure team, led by our oenologist Antonio Palacios, take care of every detail in the winemaking process and our clients, we know that the outcome of this fascinating adventure is a wine of the highest quality which has become a winemaking treasure. But, without a doubt, the support of the International Community is the ultimate seal to frame it.
The International Wine & Spirit Competition is considered the oldest and most prestigious competition in its category. Held in London, it reviews and evaluates thousands of wines and spirits from up to 90 different countries. It was funded in 1969 by winemaker Anton Massel, and maintains its founder’s focus on the importance of chemical analysis. Each product is tested by a laboratory performing a detailed technical analysis, after which a blind tasting is conducted, and then prizes are awarded. The jury is composed of Masters of Wine, WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) teachers, buyers, sommeliers and renowned journalists.
